Metal Punching and Machining

CCL manufacture conveyors that sit beneath cutting and punching machinery to efficiently remove any excess waste after a sheet of metal is cut or punched.

Belt Conveyors for removing offcuts

These are standard PVC belt conveyors, with only one difference. They are designed to be very low to the ground, requiring tight diameter rollers to minimise the vertical gap between the carrying surface of the belt, and the belt retufn path. These units are frequently mounted on castors to allow them to be rapidly slid under the cutting or punching machine, and then slid out again to redeploy to other machines, or for cleaning.

Drag Conveyors for removing swarf and offcuts

An alternative solution, where very fine cuttings might fall into the belt mechanism of a standard belt conveyor, is the drag conveyor. This has no carrying belt per se; the offcuts fall through the conveyor onto an underplate (or even the floor), whereon the flights of the conveyor "sweep" the cuttings towards the end of the conveyor. In this way, there is no possibility of damage to the system by trapping offcuts in the machinery.

Whillst slightly "taller" than the belt conveyors, these conveyors can still be made very "low profile", and hence able to fit underneath pressing and stamping machines.

However we can also provide any other conveying application that is required in your manufacturing process, and with our vast experience and knowledge of conveyors give you the answers you need to determine exactly what type of conveyor is required.
